Faith Works Partnerships is a Christ centered organization created to promote health and wellness in the faith community. We have learned that faith communities can be an excellent source of health information. To promote our mission, we collaborate with various businesses and non profits to advocate healthy lifestyles.Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.3 John 1:2We provide educational outreach to promote healthy congregations by sponsoring health fairs, lunch and learns, bulletin inserts and informational sessions .About Our Founder and Executive DirectorOur Founder and Executive Director is Mrs. Ty Grissett, RN, BA, FCN. She has provided health educated and awareness to various faith communities since 2008.She has participated with various successful grants and educational outreach events over the last five years. Organizations she has collaborated with include Johnson and Johnson Inc, SC State Baptist YWA Health Ministry, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Lowcountry, SC DHEC Region 6, American Cancer Society, Careteam and Smoke Free Horry. Mrs. Grissett truly considers helping people as one of her greatest joys. She has been recognized for her outreach achievements by many organizations. In 2009, Mrs. Grissett was recognized in the Johnson and Johnson Worldwide Report has one of its Top 12 Grantees, one of only 2 recognized from the United States, with the work she guided in the Cedar Branch Community of Loris, SC. In 2011, she was recognized for exemplary service from the South Carolina State Baptist Young Women's Auxiliary Health Ministry. Mrs. Grissett realizes none of this would have been possible without effective community collaborations and outreach. It was out of these collaborations that Mrs. Grissett noted there was a void in the centralization of health awareness and outreach for the faith community. Founded by Mrs. Grissett in May of 2011, Faith Works Partnerships provides health outreach to approximately 70 faith communities throughout Coastal South Carolina, primarily located within Horry County. Faith Works Partnerships is actively seeking non profit status.

Starting a Health Ministry So you want to start a health ministry in your church?Great!!! We can help....Our Executive Director has started many succesful health ministries and she can help you too! After attending a Health Ministry Start Up session, you will know:The biblical basis for health ministriesHistory of health awareness and education in the churchImportance of health ministriesLaws and regulations regarding health ministriesQualifications to "serve" as a member of the Health MinistryHealth Minisitry toolbox kit required materialsCommon first aid techniquesAll sessions taught by a Registered Nurse.Sessions will also include information about CPR training and certification.Interested in participating in the next class? Event Speakers Event SpeakersFaith Works Partnerships provides dedicated speakers for your health awareness events or faith community service. Our speakers include cancer survivors, those living with various chronic diseases, and also those living with a terminal illness. We also have trained health educators and lay health educators available to teach on the following topics: •cancer awareness•depression•diabetes •heart disease•obesity •smoking cessation•STD / STI / teen pregnancy prevention•and various other health care topics...We can also educate on the following youth and teen topics:•asthma•childhood obesity•healthy eating•STD / STI / teen pregnancy prevention•sun safety•and various other health topicsWe can also tailor a session for your group. Due to numerous requests from local business organizations desiring to collaborate with faith based communities, the Faith Works Partnerships organization was born.Faith Works Partnerships provides guidance and assistance to various non profits and for profit businesses desiring to market, provide goods and services to the faith based community. These opportunities are culturally competent, mutually beneficial and are appropriately matched to our partner faith communities.What do we get for signing up?Registration is FREE! You will receive FREE health brochures and awareness information, learn about upcoming health conferences and events and invitations to participate in community grants and marketing opportunities!! Dreading that talk with your kids about sexuality? Not sure what to say or how to say it?Let me and my team come out to your church or community organization and teach our evidence based curriculm to your teens aged 14-19 for FREE. Sessions will include information about self esteem building, how to handle yourself in certain situations, abstience and also contraception - birth control methods will be discussed. Sessions are for TEENS ONLY.PARENTS will be invited to attend "Let's TalK About It" sessions. Our parent education workshops are FREE, interactive and teach you how to talk and listen to you child.
